We here at Share are involved with a number of projects, mainly based in Romania.
Each year newly qualified Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists volunteer within a Romanian children’s centre. Many of the children here have multiple and complex disabilities. Our volunteers provide the children with intensive therapy, often via play, to support their skill development. Find more about the Bianca Project here.
As the children turn 18, they move out of the children’s centre and into an adult centre, with many more residents. In 2019, Share partnered with Love Light Romania to build a house for three of the children. The house is a family home where the three, now young adults, live; making their own decisions, learning new skills and enjoying life. This home, is Jim’s House.
