Volunteer reflections

Each summer the volunteer therapists are asked to write a reflective piece about their experience. The reflections not only make us smile, but provide us with valuable information when planning for the next years project.

Here are some snippets of reflection from previous volunteers.

“Also by providing play and enjoyment to the children meant it gave them independence and gave them occupations to engage in. Engaging the children in occupations and therapeutic activities provides a wide variety of benefits for cognition and physical enablement, as well as shared enjoyment, social interaction and fun which was lacking at the centre.”

“Overall would love to return on this trip which I think speaks volumes for its success I have met some beautiful children and made amazing friends too.”

“As a newly qualified therapist I think this experience was a perfect bridge between university and full time work. I know the knowledge and experience I have gained over the past month I will use all the time once I start work.”

…”the therapeutic input is priceless, but I believe that the love,
happiness, cuddles and laughter that those amazing children
experienced from us was just as important”

“As soon as I returned from Romania, I have wanted to go back.”

…”I feel so fortunate to have had this opportunity to go and work at the centre ……I am so grateful to the Share charity for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes that makes this experience possible”
